Tom & Grace Tate

Tom 1931 – 2017  ·  Grace 1943 – 2016

Tom and Grace were a shining light to all fortunate enough to have met them. Their lives embodied compassion, discipline, vision. Their excitement for life inspired all: those who came to know them and those who met them briefly. I and countless animals applaud their dedicated vegan commitment. They never wavered in their conviction and ethics. They loved animals and they lived by the principle of nonviolence. They hosted many wonderful vegan potlucks in their home. They were gracious to all, loving hosts serving healthy food choices. They honored the vegan message as they loved animals, as a way to support the planet, and for human health. No wonder their lives were long and bright. I witnessed their passion for yoga. They took it seriously and studied with many great teachers.

I send my condolences to Tom’s beloved family. I hope they know Tom was loved by the TriYoga community.

It was a blessing to have Tom & Grace in my yoga classes. I know they are together and soaring high!

They remain in the hearts of those who knew them. Let us celebrate Tom’s very successful visit to Earth.

He and Grace were angels doing their parts ~ now they are flying in their real forms.

From Tom & Grace’s dear friend, TriYoga teacher Mary Kemper:

My mother (a yoga teacher in the Cincinnati Yoga Association) and her friends always called him Tom Terrific, which he liked. He and Grace were deep in their commitments to social justice, love for all beings, and the light of yoga.

Tom’s dear family requested for his service that everyone wear bright colors to celebrate Tom’s life. This is perfect as Tom was/is always bright.
