Following the Bonsai conference, Kaliji went on a Yoga Yatra (journey) in several locations in Karnataka, India. Her program was organized by Dr. K.R. Pai, a well-known Sanskrit scholar in Karnatic state. Dr. Pai’s many connections within the field of yoga and with the media brought Kaliji to hunderds of people on this 8-day tour.
The first location was in Dharmasthala, a seven-hour drive from Mysore. Dharmasthala is a place of religious pilgrimage, overseen by Sri Veerendra Heggade, the 20th generation of the Heggade family to oversee the religious, administrative and daily activities of the town. The temple of Lord Manjunatha receives thousands each year, and the kitchens feed 25,000 people daily and 50,000 on holy days.
