After trainings in Moscow and Kiev, John and Santoshi’s autumn teaching tour led them to Germany and their second visit to TriYoga Center Bad Tölz. TriYoga Center Director and Level 2 teacher Kathrin Decker created a wonderful and varied program for their six day visit—two different TriYoga Therapeutics workshops, an alignment assistance seminar for the Basics teacher training group, Partner Stretch, and Basics–Level 2 flow classes.
Bad Tölz is a beautiful town, situated in a broad valley flanked by mountains with the high German and Austrian alps at the southern end.
TYC Bad Tölz is an ideal studio for Therapeutics! Kathrin provides an abundance of props for students: blocks, a variety of pillows, bolsters of various sizes and firmness, sand weights, blankets, and yoga ties. The Therapeutics groups had a lot of fun experimenting with all the props available, and then immersing themselves into supported relaxation in each āsana.
Kathrin is recovering from a left-side ACL injury, and found many ways to enter the flow during Therapeutics. Here she demonstrates focus and alignment in Hanuman while her knee is completely supported.
Partner stretch is always a lot of fun! The eleven participants included four different couples—students who brought their husbands and partners—and also Kathrin’s mother! One student told her husband, previously reluctant to attend a TriYoga class, that they were “going out for something” that evening. Not until they were in the car did she tell him they were going to Partner Stretch! He enjoyed the class and is looking forward to the next time.
Kathrin has created a strong and happy TriYoga Community in Bad Tölz, centered around the TriYoga Center. The first teacher training at the TYC recently completed, with more to follow.
Kathrin is also a very caring and thoughtful host, making John and Santoshi’s stay easy, fun, and very enjoyable! Pictured below are scenes from a lovely afternoon walk.
