July 7–22, 2018
Santoshi made her fifth trip to Tamisa Yoga in Kyoto, offering more than two weeks of TriYoga.
The 2018 Basics Teacher Training group includes students from several different parts of Japan.
The five days of teacher training included Physical and Subtle Anatomy, Daily Flows and Prana Vidya, Alignment Assistance, and Ahimsa lifestyle.
The interns explored the practical application of their new anatomy knowledge ~ to understand and appreciate TriYoga flows with focus on the mechanical and energetic benefits of TriYoga practice.
The course coincided with Swamiji’s Healing & Meditation Concert in Canada: the interns listened to the music while they practiced Prana Vidya together.
The group shared a vegan “pot-luck” lunch together, with a variety of dishes including a “hatha” dessert of fresh vegan yogurt and homemade jam.
Santoshi also taught a three-day TriYoga Prenatal Course. One of the attendees, yoga teacher Yuli was in her 39th week of pregnancy. She attended all three days and participated fully. She was able to give first-hand reports about her experience of TriYoga Prenatal. She said she left each day feeling more relaxed and energized.
The program was organized by Yoko who also attended the Prenatal course and will now be expanding the Prenatal options at Tamisa. Translation was provided by Maya (right) and Toshi (in yellow). Many of the Tamisa staff and teachers (including Mayuko and Yoshie pictured here) also attended the programs as students and assistants, and enjoyed meals and treats together.
Vegan options in Kyoto continue to expand– from new vegan restaurants to more vegan options at non-veg restaurants. One of the best vegan restaurants in Kyoto, Veg Out, is also owned by Yoko, the owner of Tamisa. For the last night of Santoshi’s visit, Veg Out offered a special menu, and over 20 members of TriYoga Japan joined together for a delicious dinner.
