Continuing on her autumn tour, Kaliji departed Japan and flew to Switzerland. She had a 9-hour layover in Singapore, which gave time for a trip into the city.
Singapore, always highly decorated for each holiday, was dressed up for Diwali. Diwali is known as the “festival of lights” and is an important holiday in the Hindu tradition. The October full moon shines above.
Kaliji traveled to Schweibenalp, the retreat center in Switzerland where the weekend’s programs were held. Schweibenalp lies in the Swiss Alps at 3600 feet above sea level, and is located on a small high plateau of Alpine pastures and mountain forests.
Schweibenalp is approximately 1300 feet above the beautiful Lake Brienz.
The program was filled with many students and teachers from Switzerland, Germany, and other locations, and was wonderfully organized by Zurich TY teacher Carmen. Matarani and Mitradeva assisted, and Eva-Maria provided translation for the entire weekend.
Master tabla player Prasann, who had been in China with Kaliji, re-joined the tour in Switzerland.
He played tabla for all sessions including yogaflow, yoga nidra, prana vidya, chanting, and delivered an outstanding solo performance. This was the debut of live tabla music during the sadhana.
