For the second consecutive year, Kaliji spent the summer solstice teaching programs at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat in northern Michigan. From June 18-20, students enjoyed full days of programs with Kaliji, including asana practice, prana vidya, subtle anatomy and samkhya philosophy, and Chant Club.
The solstice light illuminated beautiful triangles inside the geodesic dome.
Nightly Chant Club sessions were very popular during the retreat!
Classes included TriYoga students from across the United States and Canada as well as local students, many of whom attended Kaliji’s Michigan program last year.
The beautiful view from the dining hall. Many students took advantage of Song of the Morning Retreat’s 800 acres of nature, enjoying canoeing, swimming, and walks through the woods.
Long time TriYoga student Don Handyside, current president of Song of the Morning, organized the TriYoga programs.
Song of the Morning residents Sam and Linda hosted Kaliji in their home and were introduced to TriYoga for the first time.
Kaliji was assisted in Michigan by senior teachers John and Stephanie and Chant Club member Mercury Max. Crossing into Michigan was a milestone for John, as it marked the 50th state he has visited. Kaliji remarked that John and Stephanie’s next challenge is to teach TriYoga in every country!
