People For Animals is India’s largest animal welfare organization, with a nationwide network of 26 hospitals, 165 units and 2500 members. They rescue and rehabilitate sick and needy animals, set up and run shelters, and provide ambulance services, sterilization programs, treatment camps and disaster rescue missions for animals. They also conduct education programs in schools, fight cases in court and lobby for animal issues in parliament. PFA aims to have an animal welfare center in each of India’s 600 districts. See the PFA website for more info.
