Baroda ~ December 25 and 26
Internationally acclaimed as a yogini, founder of TriYoga, and advocate for animals and the vegan diet, Kaliji was featured in
Sandesh (“Message”), newspaper of the Indian state of Gujarat, that has a circulation of one million. An image of the article appears at right.
Very formal for much of the interview, the youthful reporter, Yogen Joshi, who was interviewing Kaliji, suddenly exclaimed that he wanted to study with Kaliji
directly
and help bring TriYoga to others. In a private TriYoga session, he felt the rhythm and beauty of the flow.
Three-hour sessions were offered on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon the teachers had a teacher training session.
The program concluded with an inspiring and greatly appreciated TriYoga demonstration by Kaliji.
The three dedicated TriYoga teachers at the Baroda TriYoga Center are Anjali, Anita and Shilpa.
They have a loyal group of students that have a choice of attending any of eight daily classes.
The TriYoga Center Baroda was begun in 1995 by Colonel Mehta who studied directly with Kaliji. He passed away in 2000. In 2001 TriYoga Center moved to its present location.
The TriYoga community in Baroda hosted Kaliji and her 6 assistants.
Thanks to Anjali and Dinesh and their son, Vineil and his wife
Namrata; to Shilpa and Kiran, and their
children, Rajan and Rajavi; Anita; and Col. Mehta’s wife, Sheela.
TriYoga teacher, Anjali said that she is very thankful from the heart that Kaliji and her teachers came to Baroda.
